04 - Spread softened butter evenly onto the outside top and bottom of the assembled rolls.

06 - Remove from heat, let cool slightly, then separate into 12 mini sandwiches.
07 - Optionally, brush with Dijon mustard and sprinkle chopped chives or parsley before serving.

# Expert Tips:

01 -
  • The buttery crispness on each miniature sandwich feels like a playful upgrade to a childhood favorite.
  • They’re endlessly customizable—everyone can have their mini grilled cheese just the way they want.
02 -
  • If you rush the heat, the rolls brown before the cheese melts—slow and steady makes the difference.
  • Brushing the outside with just enough butter gives you that unbeatable crisp, but too much makes it soggy.
03 -
  • Pack the cheese all the way to the edges or the corners dry out.
  • A quick rest after baking makes slicing cleaner and melts the cheese just right.
